Educating [Geeks] S3 E14 – Firefly & Serenity

This week hosts Andrea, Bri, Diana, and Sara get together to discuss Firefly and Serenity. Can one of the hosts overcome her controversial stance on the beloved series and movie? We’ll find out!

Educating [Geeks] S3 E13 – Back to the Future

This week on Educating [Geeks] Cassie, Krissy and I are joined by special guest Ray who loves Back to the Future, especially Doctor Emmett Brown but not the special effects. Krissy wonders about the future of non-R rated comedies, I defend my decision to pick the DeLorean as my favorite character, and Cassie says “Great Scott!” to George McFly’s behavior. The ladies also discuss some of the problems a 2015 point of view sheds upon the plot and ponder the PG rating on the film.

Educating [Geeks] S3 E12 – Mortal Kombat (The Movie)

The group got together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1995 movie Mortal Kombat. After listening, you can decide if it was a celebration or not. We all give the movie a letter grade, Megan has nostalgia “issues” and Goro reminds Diana of the Trolls movie. Krissy makes an insightful Harry Potter reference, Huan’s least favorite kharacter is Raiden and Alice learns about the video game. We also have some fun kasting the Mortal Kombat reboot movie.

Educating [Geeks] S3 E11 – Xena Season 1

At Phoenix Comicon this year, Alice, Cassie, Krissy and Sara got together with a group of die-hard fans to discuss Xena: Warrior Princess Season 1, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Over the course of the conversation, Krissy references the village of the week, Sara explains why Xena is so special to her, Cassie talks about chemistry, Alice really wants THE subtext to be true, and everybody wonders about the logistics of a human/centaur pairing.

Educating [Geeks] S3 E10 – American Horror Story: Freak Show

This week hosts Bri, Diana, and Sara are joined by guest host Jonathan as well as an entire room of Phoenix Comicon 2015 attendees. Many audience members contributed to the conversation (thank you!!) to help cover the themes of family, fame, and what makes a monster.
